“I worked with Coach Scarpero for about two years as I learned to swim in preparation for an Ironman 70.3. We put together an initial plan for an earlier triathlon, but due to my schedule and work commitments, we reset my goals and the training schedule. Coach Don taught me to swim properly by deconstructing my old stroke and rebuilding it properly. We worked on drills, speed and distance. Each workout had a purpose and each built on previous workouts.. Throughout the process, Don was organized, patient and always kept me on track. He knew when to push me and when to back off. On a couple of occasions, we cut short a pool workout when it was clear I was struggling. Coach Don is knowledgeable, based not only on the training he has received, but he also walks the walk. It was fun to line up with him at an Olympic distance triathlon last summer. I heartily recommend Coach Scarpero as a coach, resource and mentor in triathlon. I know my path to my first Ironman 70.3 was much, much easier with Don’s help.”

“I started training with Don Scarpero in 2014. My swimming technique was very poor, I was getting too tired, and could not swim 100 yards without having to rest. After 3-4 months of training, I could swim 1,000 yards non-stop. Don helped me improve my technique and water fitness tremendously. After two years of training with Don, I finally gained enough confidence to race in a sprint triathlon in the summer 2016. I still have a lot to improve, but Don’s coaching allowed me to complete a challenge that would have been impossible two years ago.”
